CLEARWATER, Fla. (AP) _ Nicholas Financial Inc. (NICK) on Thursday reported fiscal first-quarter net income of $813,000.

On a per-share basis, the Clearwater, Florida-based company said it had net income of 10 cents.

The specialized consumer finance company posted revenue of $22.2 million in the period.

Nicholas Financial shares have dropped 23 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has decreased 15 percent in the last 12 months.
