CLEARWATER, Fla. (AP) _ Nicholas Financial Inc. (NICK) on Friday reported a loss of $905,000 in its fiscal third quarter.

On a per-share basis, the Clearwater, Florida-based company said it had a loss of 12 cents. Losses, adjusted for pretax gains, came to 17 cents per share.

The specialized consumer finance company posted revenue of $16.7 million in the period.

Nicholas Financial shares have risen 1 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has increased 15 percent in the last 12 months.
